STARTedUP is working with educators from across Indiana to expose more students to a mindset of innovation and entrepreneurship.

INDIANA INNOVATION EDUCATOR FELLOWSHIP

The Indiana Innovation Educator Fellowship is the only fellowship of its kind. All Indiana high school educators, regardless of the class they teach, are invited to apply to be part of the fellowship. As fellows, educators are ambassadors of innovation for the state of Indiana, connected with likeminded individuals, promoted as integral members of their community, and play a role in engaging their local ecosystem within their classroom. Members of the fellowship are connected with statewide exclusive events, provided regular supportive services from STARTedUP, and receive invitations to speak on panels related to innovation in education. During the monthly virtual meetups, fellows hear from guest speakers, share best practices, and make connections with likeminded peers from around Indiana.

31 educators from across Indiana were engaged in the Fellowship during the 2022-2023 school year.

2,217 students signed up for Innovate WithIN because they were encouraged by a fellow or in their classroom.

Fellows reportedly saw a 60% increase in students engaging in “outside the box” thinking after participating in STARTedUP programming with an increase of just 42% of students to 79% of students demonstrating that they felt they have a passion and purpose.

STATEWIDE ENGAGEMENT

100 schools had students who participated in Innovate WithIN during the 2023 competition year.

35 Indiana counties had students sign up to compete in Innovate WithIN.

83 educators signed up to be part of the Innovate WithIN companion course, helping guide them in teaching students about entrepreneurship and innovation.

GROWING INTEREST

5 educators traveled internationally to experience youth innovation and entrepreneurship in Italy.

STARTedUP will have 120 Fellows as part of the 2024-2025 STARTedUP Innovation Educator Fellowship!
